Amy mook
Amy Mook is a Doctoral Academic Teacher and PhD student within the Department of Psychology, at The University of Liverpool. She has expertise in children's social care and psychological wellbeing. Her PhD research concerns the long-term health and wellbeing of mother and infant dyads undergoing residential parenting assessments as part of children's social care proceedings using a multi-method approach. She is also passionate about using her lived experience of foster care to improve the outcomes for children and young people living under local authority care through her research and public presence. Amy Mook also has a strong passion for:
(1) improving the educational outcomes for children and young people in children's social care to increase equality of opportunity in society,
(2) developing more consistent and standardised social & emotional support for children & young people in the care system and into adulthood as care experienced individuals,
(3) incorporating social pedogeological practices into the way that children's social care operates to counteract the deficit model of social care.
